One of the most common pregnancy complaints I hear is back pain. It’s common because it makes sense. When you’re pregnant, you’ve got natural weight gain, hormonal changes, and postural changes, to name a few. All these things can lead to discomfort and aches in your back.
There are some things you can do to help relieve your back:
- Pay attention to your posture
- Regularly move your body
- Visit a specialist as needed
- One specialist might be a pelvic floor PT who can recommend strengthening and lengthening exercises specific to you
The movements we do in yoga can help you, as well. This is the first of a 4 part series that focuses on back pain during pregnancy. Each practice is about 5 minutes long.
Do modify as you need!
And don’t underestimate the power of 5 minutes!!
